Books
When I decided to search I spoke to one of America's leading experts,
herself an adoptee, and avidly read her books on adoption. I would
recommend them to anyone linked to adoption:
BJ Lifton
Twice Born: Memoirs of An Adopted Daughter
Lost and Found: The Adoption Experience
Journey of the Adopted Self: A Quest For Wholeness
Tell Me a Real Adoption Story, a picture book for children.
To provide a birth mother's perspective I recommend
an English book:
Half a Million Women, available from the Post
Adoption Centre,
Websites
Adoption.com
is the most popular adoption site on the web. It's been going to since
1996 and has 1 million visitors a month. Its main focus is on linking
parents that want to adopt to children.
History
A wonderful
site which chronicles the major issues in America this century.
Here you can read about some celebrity
adoptees.
Less than two years ago, what was predictable was that I would never
find my birth mother, never have know that my father was still alive,
and never even known of the existence of my wonderful brothers and sisters.
(Nor would this site have been created). All of these things came about
through the training and support which Igot in:
The Landmark Team Management and Leadership Program
